Amy Mottram Psychotherapy Psychotherapy & Counselling in Spilsby, Lincolnshire

Therapy aims to offer you opportunity to explore and work through difficulties in a safe, confidential environment with no judgement. Individuals seek counselling and psychotherapy for a number of reasons, often because of the difficulties and challenges faced in daily life that becomes overwhelming and may impact upon relationships, work and professional judgement . It is sometimes beyond the individual to address those issues without professional help.
We often develop creative ways of being to regulate uncomfortable emotional states, compensating for needs which have not been met, these creative ways of being allow the hiding of pain, and can also become maladaptive. • Therapy looks to empower you to be spontaneous, know true intimacy both with self and others, and to be autonomous, healing past hurts so they are no longer alive in the here and now.

Integrative psychotherapy means I work with individuals to enable them to experience life and others in the fullest way for them. This approach enables me to draw on a blend of theories designed around what you may need, to help you with the working through of issues. My approach is relational –developmental; I very much believe in the importance of the therapist client fit, it is important I am the right therapist for you. This also means that what may be troubling you now can be seen within the context of your whole life; your history, experiences and relationships, including your very earliest ones, and the meaning these hold for you.

Within the therapeutic relationship a safe space will be available for you to think, feel, reflect, explore, make connections and understand, facilitating long lasting change. I will be available to you with no preconception of you or personal agenda other than to be in relationship with you and be helpful in guiding you in your right direction.
